Have you ever made a split-second decision, then wondered why you acted the way you did? Have you ever felt like someone treated you coldly, but you couldn’t explain why? These common experiences are often due to unconscious bias, the assumptions and stereotypes we ascribe to people intentionally or unintentionally.
Bias is one of the root causes of racial and gender inequities in our society, but you have more control over it than you might think. Bias is a learned habit of thought that keeps us from caring for one another. Unlearning bias can help us restore the connection, confidence, and courage we need to transform inequities and build a better world.
Using our PRISM toolkit rooted in the science of neuroplasticity, we designed this course to equip you with science-backed, compassion-based skills to break bias, cultivate community, and help shape an equitable world where everyone belongs.
This course was developed with input from over 50 professionals in education, philanthropy, nonprofits, technology, law, and wellness.
Breaking Unconscious Bias is designed for anyone seeking to better themselves and their community by breaking bias, learning about racial and gender disparities, and helping to build a more equitable world where everyone belongs. It is designed for busy professionals with any amount of knowledge about bias and inequities - beginners are welcome!
